Arrival
July 18th, 2008 by Michael WebberSo far we’ve made it to Oregon after sleeping in a church parking lot and waking up to get legal registration tabs on the support vehicle at last minute. It was a late start leaving Seattle, and arriving in Vancouver at 2:00 am, wired on cocao nibs proved a difficult night’s sleep wedged in the van or out in the grass.
Diesel is expensive, but in a car that burns 1000 miles to the gallon, it works. We’re not sure how the other teams are doing it with their multitude of conversion vans and pick-ups.
The support vehicle is getting last minute safety preparations done to it and so far we’ve tested the auxiliary support scooter.
Soon we’re going to initiate intimidation tactics to the field of competition while the vehicles pass their inspection.
Stay in tune for more updates… and photos here….
